What an Archive Edition is
An Archive Edition is a carefully produced physical or digital edition based on preserved source material — a complete issue, a portfolio, or a documented selection — restored under our restoration ethics and numbered plainly: , not "limited collector's treasure."

Every edition documents:
- Its source — the accession-numbered copy (or copies) it was made from.
- Its restoration class, plate by plate — original scan, corrected, cleaned, restored, or reconstructed.
- Its legal basis — public domain, licensed, or produced by permission, stated on the edition page.
The rule that governs the program
No edition is produced merely because we own the physical magazine. Ownership of paper is not ownership of copyright, and the program proceeds only where the law and our rights review permit. This is slower. It is also the point.
